I will never forget the day when Mark Rogers came up to me at church and asked if I would sing back-up vocals for The Crosstones. Without hesitation my mouth opened and I immediately replied “yes”. I was beyond excited, however I had never sang back-up vocals before and I was not sure what I had gotten into, but God knew what He was doing.
Music and singing has always been a big part of my life. I can remember singing duets with my cousin Amy at the church where my parents grew up. I also sang in the choirs at church and in school throughout the years.
Many songs have touched my life throughout the years. When I was 12 years old, I was involved in a serious automobile accident. The doctors told my parents that if I made it through the night, I would be fine. While in the hospital my mom played some songs that I had sung in children’s choir at church. She said that I didn’t say anything, but tears fell down my face. She also played “Guardian Angel” by the Judds and I also cried tears. I know that God was watching out for me as He continues to watch over me. I am very grateful that He has given me the opportunity to use my gift of singing with The Crosstones to sing, praise and worship His Holy Name.
